I went home to Northern Samar for Christmas Vacation and to spend the needed quality time with my son who is being taken cared of my parents and siblings there. Sigh, this is my situation right now. My son in away from me but this is temporary, I promise.
Anyway, I spent two weeks in Catarman and as usual we went to the White Beach a couple of times and enjoyed the cool sea breeze there. My son and my niece really had fun playing on the sand.
We saw some kids who were surfing the waves. These were regular suki of the waves of the White Beach. The waves in this month and up to February are naturally big while in the summer it is almost serene specially in the mornings.
Well, sometime during my by-far long vacation, we went to Fishville in the nearby town of Bobon, Northern Samar which I promised my sisters, the twins, so I could treat them there with their favorite food, the Spicy Chicken and Mango pizza and of course for a little fun trip with the family.
We took with us the little ones, my son Oriel and my niece Winwin, and the oldies, our parents. Our other sister went back to Manila that day so she could not come and she was drooling, we know. Also, our brother was sleeping that time at 12 noon and he also could not come and he was just so unlucky that day, LOL.
So we drove in our what my father calls our L300 which is of course our orange colored tricycle. Well, my sister says it is red not orange and she tells me I'm colored blind. We drove from our house in UEP to Bobon for what seemed like an eternity although it would usually just take about 20 minutes or less. What can I say, my father is not a fan of Michael Schumacher and my mother does not like a speedy ride at all. She likes it slow, careful and smooth, in that order.
And then we arrived at Fishville which is a locally a popular fishing resort and restaurant in Catarman but as I mentioned is located in the next town, Bobon. This is about just my fourth visit to the place which is actually easy to find since it is just along the National Highway. And because I like it so much I think I should like Fishville's facebook page for their current updates on schedules, gigs, menus and what-not.
My son and my niece were very ecstatic to see the fish in the pond there. The name of the fish? I don't know yet but they looked like coy fish to me. I could not take my son away from those little swimmers. He was just so fascinated by them.
Fishville offers a lot of mouthwatering meals on its menu. We ordered enough for our entire group of five. We ordered Chicken Lollipop as appetizer but we, born and raised as regular Filipinos could not really eat it without rice. We also ordered Sizzling Mixed Seafood, Kinilaw (I think it was Tanigue), Pinangat, Halo-halo for them, Mango Shake for me, and the reason why the twins tagged along with us, the Spicy Chicken-Mango Pizza. We did not, by any chance forgot to order rice and water. By the way, Pinangat is a popular dish in Catarman which is composed of gabi leaves, small dried fish (dilis or tuyo), chili, lots of coconut milk, and wrapped around by again a gabi leaf. It is one of my most favorite food which I miss so much since I could not find it in regular restaurants in Manila. They only have here laing which is another dish of course.
For starters, they served these first...
I let my sisters took photos of the menu so we can budget our next visit to this place again.
Can't read that? Don't worry, their food is really very affordable and sulit.
Fishville's main restaurant also serves as it's function hall where live bands play on schedule and events are held. It has crescent moon image and text that I thought maybe they have some Muslim friends. I like the moon, by they way. It is one of my favorite celestial bodies in the solar system and I miss my Muslim friends in Kabul.
Fishville is practically located by the water where anyone can fish and watch the beautiful scenery. I really like those bahay-kubo which serve also as places to dine and relax. The huts are just enough size for small and big groups of barkadas. Those huts I must say definitely provide lot of fun ambiance lalo pag may inuman. Less space means more fun since people tend to get closer and forced to talk to one another if not to all, when space is limited. Yep, I'm speaking from experience. I still prefer spaces like that but no more alcoholic drinks. I'm not a fan of beer or anything anymore except for tea, juice and water. Ok, I like red wine, too.
The place is also big enough to walk around, take photos of the pretty surroundings and enjoy watching some men catch fish, prawns, and crabs. There are also small boats for kayaking. There is also a floating bahay-kubo like the ones in Isdaan Restaurant in Tarlac.
For keep-sake, I shall post the photos here. However, since I'm camera-shy, I should not be in the photos and would maintain distance of approximately 25 mile-radius away from the camera a.ka. my own iphone.
(Thank God I finished copying the photos which I attached here. It almost took me twenty minutes of almost not breathing just to make sure it was all copied. I really have to buy a new chord for my iphone. It's almost a bite away of an ant then it's cut).

This is at the entrance with the twins as my regular models.
