Why Do We Have To Unschool Ourselves

Jim Rohn said, " Formal education  will make you a living; self- education  will make you a fortune." I was a good student. I was very good in academics so much so that I was always one of the top honor students. From kindergarten to elementary to high school. I was a consistent top academic performer. I used to be proud of myself about this achievement I had.  It's true what Robert Kiyosaki said that i n the real world, the smartest people are people who make mistakes and learn.  In school, the smartest people don’t make mistakes. In school, we are trained not to make mistakes or else we get low grades or worse, fail. I studied hard so I could pass and move up to the next level then graduate then get a job. Life was simple. But life, as I found out and keep finding out, is not simple. School did not teach me basic financial literacy. Tithing or saving or investing was rarely mentioned at school. Most importantly, I have never remembered any teacher mentio...

How to Prepare Your Young Boy to be a Gentleman

My son just turned five years old last month.  Now before I go on I want to let everyone know that I'm blogging this because I am still feeling shocked, awed and excited all at the same about the greatest news in the entire universe this week. The wedding of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo! Oh my gosh, I thought it was not going to happen. But it is really true that the universe listens. I am one the many people who saw the drama Descendants of the Sun (can someone please explain to me because I still don't understand why that is the title but anyway...) who prayed and hoped that Big Boss and Beauty were a real thing! Oh for how many weeks after I've finished watching the drama I kept wishing that they would really end up together. Ever after. Forever and ever! I just can't contain my excitement. I can't help but smile every time I think about this news. Whether I'm in the bus, on the train, or walking haha! Song Hye Kyo is a wise woman to have chose...

Why I Love My Truly Rich Club Membership

I joined Truly Rich Club by my virtual mentor, Bo Sanchez, if my memory is correct, back in 2010 or I think early 2011 (sorry memory gap, not sleeping right). It was kinda automatic on my part to join because I was already reading his articles years back. I knew the guy genuinely wanted to impart his knowledge about God and now about finances.  I liked his practical teachings about God, God-solutions to problems, and then the new how to invest in the stock market. I was one of those people who never imagined ever investing in the stock market. Heck, I did not even know what the stock market was. Me, a lowly, poor, ordinary human being from a humble province in the island of Visayas never knew about this alien world called the stock market. However, I think it may have passed my mind even just in a few millisecond about money increasing while keeping it somewhere. It was a wish actually. After I've read his book My Maid Invests in the Stock Market, that fueled my interest ...

What Do You Do When Your Child is Getting More "Naughty" Each Day

Dear Anyone, I honestly don't know the answer to this so this is really a question I'd like to ask. Actually, for the lack of other adjectives, I have a very limited English vocabulary, I used "naughty". I'd like to describe my son's behavior as naughty in a funny way. Well, maybe it's funny now because he's still very young. He just turned 5 years old. Maybe it's just a phase for some kids. Most of the time I could not make myself get mad at him, you know, to be in a discipline mood time, because he's just too darn cute!  How Do I scold him without a smiling, heck, without laughing when he does those stuff he does. This morning, my sister told me that, they were watching Disney Junior and then there was this advertisement about Dream Big Princess. Now I don't know what that is. It's been a while since I last watched Disney Junior (Yep, we used to watch from sun up to sun down. Babies ruled the house). In that commercial break,...

Why Four Hours of Travel To and From Work is a Blessing

Another normal day today. Normal day to me is staying inside the house. Doing a few minutes of yoga in the morning... Eating. Taking a bath. Cleaning the house. Washing my clothes. Doing facebook. Calling my son and the rest of the family back in the Philippines. Trying to do all the things I've listed in my To-do list for the day. This last one takes a lot a discipline. Because, I end up watching movies online instead. Funny because I always hoped I was not employee working for an employer, I mean that I should be my own boss in my own company so that I can do all the things that I need to do everyday. All those target results the need to be achieved. All the lessons and courses that need to be studied. The blogs that I need to write. The pages that I need to update. The exercises that I need to do. And then comes weekend. Then nothing. It's like I'm paralyzed and just sit forever browsing through facebook, youtube, instagram. I look at my blogs and I just...

10 Songs To Help You Get Moving Your Lazy Self To Exercise

The feeling of satisfaction after a good physical exercise gives you happiness, confidence and fresh strength. That is if you really do your workout. Unfortunately, there will really be days when you feel like sitting it all out the whole day and to other things other than your regular exercise. The feeling of laziness is the ultimate blockage of the more beautiful and healthier version of you. You just feel the heaviness of your body weighing you down and it is just so tempting to sleep. It is very particular with us Moms what with all the never-ending responsibilities and chores. Good news is it just takes a few clicks from your phone or your laptop to get you motivated to move and you don’t need to go to a gym, really. You can do your exercise at your house at the time you set which is strictly for that purpose only.  So here are the only 10, yes, 10 songs to get you your adrenalin rush. Few songs are new. Few songs are old. Few songs you might never heard of before but ...
